Infrastructure, IT, Network Senior Network Engineer
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing leadership, architecting, installing, maintaining, and supporting computer communication networks within an organization and between organizations. Goal is to ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to network & voice team
- Architect network & voice solutions
- Train junior resources on Cisco technologies
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches
- Build and support network infrastructure, assist or lead various projects
- Assist in implementing network changes
- Respond to trouble and service tickets on LAN and WAN
- Creation and maintenance of run-books, standards, configurations, work instructions, architecture, detail design documentation
- Monitor alarms of network and switches systems, monitor traffic statistics and utilization of network resources.
- Work with Global team concerning infrastructure and related LAN and WAN issues.
- Be a part of an on call rotation team
- Must have excellent comunication skills working with global teams where the native language is not English
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years in network engineering with a Degree or 10+ years in network engineering without a Degree
- Cisco router and switch technologies
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of networking architecture, including LAN and WAN technologies and management
- Excellent skills with documentation standards and network diagramming
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of telecommunications system and carrier services
- Ability to work in a team environment, be an individual contributor, or lead as required
- CCIE certification or equivalent relevant experience
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
Professional Skills/Experience:
- Experience with Cisco routers, Cisco switches and various telecommunication equipment
- Experience with Cisco ASA Firewall
- Experience with Cisco DMVPN
- Experience with Cisco wireless technologies
- Experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco voice gateways, ACLs, routing protocols, and QoS.
- Knowledge of telephony protocols
- Switching protocols
- SolarWinds Orion, Cisco Prime, and Microsoft SCOM monitoring tools or equivalent
- Experience with Cisco ACS
- Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Active Directory and Site & Subnet
- Strong working knowledge with Microsoft and Cisco DHCP
- IP subnetting
- DMZ design
- Working knowledge VMWare virtualization
- Working knowledge on Microsoft Visio and Office suite
