Sr. IT Ops Engineer

Summary

This Houston based role will be a member of a larger global team. Based locally in Houston, TX this person will work as part of the IT Operations Engineering team as an SME in core infrastructure areas. These areas include (but are not limited to) on premise and cloud virtualization, storage, servers and desktop technologies as well as network connectivity. This person will serve as the final technical escalation point for the IT Operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure optimal performance of systems
  • Design and document processes and procedures to ensure the compute, storage and network cloud environments are operating  efficiently  and with in best practice specifications
  • Troubleshoot, remediate and perform RCA on systems in compute, storage, Exchange/O365, Active Directory, Windows Servers and other related technologies
  • Work with Management to identify trends and issues
  • Assist in leading, championing and adhering to all global policies and processes to ensure resolution of problems
  • Additional / ad hoc duties as needed to meet the needs of the business
  • Mentor and train teams locally on technical development
  • Educate colleges on best practices, adoption and utilization of technology and services
  • Support the global leadership in achieving global target levels and ensuring companywide success for all teams
  • Drive best practices to actively encourage, motivate ad support company culture through knowledge sharing

Experience

  • Experienced Lead Engineer
  • Solid knowledge of ServiceNow and ITSM
  • Customer oriented with a passion for delivering excellent service
  • Progressional manner and strong work ethic
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Flexible and willing to work within a framework of procedures and policies while demonstrating teamwork

  • VMware (vCenter + Horizon), ESXi
  • Storage Technologies (HPe 3par, Pure)
  • Exchange Server / Messaging (on premise, cloud, Hybrid & clustering)
  • Windows Server Infrastructure (File, AD, DNS, etc)
  • Azure AD, O365
  • Powershell
  • MFA (MS MFA, DUO)
  • MS Intune
  • CUCM
  • Networking concepts
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (nice to have – not required)
